My name is Jill Mitchell, PT, DPT. I am originally from Dallas, growing up in the Lake Highlands area. I attended Tulane University for my undergraduate education and then Texas Woman's University in Dallas for my Doctorate in Physical Therapy. I have an advanced certification in Orthopedic Manual Therapy (COMT) and am Level 1 & 2 certified in Trigger Point Dry Needling. I have spent the majority of my PT career working in an outpatient setting. I was often treating numerous patients at one time, increasingly frustrated by the limits of a patient's insurance, and not being able to see them fully through their recovery, let alone proactively for wellness. I decided to start Thrive Physio and Wellness so that I could provide top quality patient care not only in times of recovery but also optimal health through prevention and wellness services.
ASSESSMENT & DIAGNOSIS
-Thorough history taking including overall health, medical history, previous injuries and prior activity levels.
-Complete body movement analysis: including areas that may on the surface not be involved in your pain but could affect recovery and overall performance
-Goal setting: helping you to identify the goals you desire to achieve and live a life full of happy memories
TREATMENT & THERAPY
Personalized plan of care tailored to your needs and goals.
Therapy may include but not be limited to:
- Trigger point dry needling
- Joint mobilization and/or manipulations
- Therapeutic exercise
- Targeted manual muscle release
- Instrument assisted soft tissue release
- Neuromuscular re-education
- Home exercise program, unique to your situation.
WELLNESS & PREVENTION
Once you are out of pain and back in the race or pursuing your goals and making happy memories, I also offer wellness and prevention services which may include:
-personalized monthly programming whether that's specific to an activity or whether you are completely new to exercise,
-monthly or semi monthly fine-tune check ups (just like taking in your car in for regula check ups, for the pursuit of optimal health and performance)
-coordinated services and recommendations for nutrition and wellness.
